Yesterday was International Museum Day! SO MANY KIDS TO HANDLE. And more tomorrow too! Боже мой! D8 Ok, this probably requires some explanation. Officially, I'm kinda unemployed at the moment since my contract with my full-time employer ended on 15 May (hurrah for early release! XD), but I'm also kinda working at ArtLoft, which is like an art studio/workshop thingie at 8Q. So it's sort of like working for SAM, I realise o_o But anyway yeah, Meranda and I are art instructors there so we handle the weekend art workshops for kids mostly. And I must admit, the kids there are... kinda... cute... >_> Although they're all so small and light, I keep feeling this overwhelming compulsion to pick one up and see how far I can throw it. SHOT-PUT! *THWPING!* Anyway, yeah, there's a workshop tomorrow at SAM with over a hundred kids coming and Mren and I are like O_O Hopefully there won't be too many Ryan Lee types running about with manic glee, hahaha. I swear that boy only gets away with it because he's so cute. And small. And probably extremely throwable.
BUT OHO, SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENED YESTERDAY WHICH TOTALLY MADE MY DAY. AND WEEK. AND MONTH. AND YEAR. AND- ah heck, I LOVE YOU MREN! IN A TOTALLY PLATONIC AND NON-LES WAY! XD
RUSSIA PAPERCUT FTW!! >8D OH IVAN, YOU ARE SO BEGUILINGLY SEXY, YES YOU ARE <3 Aah, Mren, you are sheer arty genius, hahaha! I have been staring at it since yesterday and literally carry it around with me wherever I go (safely secured in the envelope and clipped between the pages of my sketchbook). Спасибо, Meranda! :D
Today I spent hours at the Central Library doing my Russian homework and reading books on Russia. Rach was asking me for recommendations in the fiction department and I was like, oh jeez I have no idea because I've been in the longest non-fiction phase EVER. Seriously, now that I think about it, about 95% of the books I've been reading or borrowing these past months are non-fic books :O Well, at least I finally managed to get my hands on the entire Nightwatch trilogy, so I shall be reading those sometime in the not-too-distant future XD And yah, Nightwatch trilogy as in the English translation of the originally-written-in-Russian books, hahaha. WHICH REMINDS ME: I still haven't finished reading The Brothers Karamazov! D8 And I want to read The Idiot too :/ But Dostoevsky will have to wait, because today I borrowed 501 Russian Verbs, Black Earth: Russia After the Fall, and Russia. Oh yeah, Viv, before you fly off to Tufts, lend me Crime & Punishment :) I am going to be buried behind books for the rest of my life, I swear...
My to-do lists get weirder and weirder every day.
