YES MY INCULTO CD FINALLY CAME IN THE MAIL FFFFFFFFFFFF
Here's the back of the CD cover. I think the longer I love this band, the harder it is to answer any kind of favourites question because I've come to adore all of them. Jurgis has his wonderful fishface charisma, Sarunas has his groovy dance moves, Laurynas reminds me of a tall leprechaun and is totally kickass on the trumpet, Jievaras is adorkable on trombone and accordion, Jonas has cool hats and drum skillz, and Auris is delightfully mad <333
STARS, I TELL YOU, STARS /o/~*~*~*
OH GOD THE HAPPENINGNESS I COULD DIE EXCEPT I REFUSE TO UNTIL I GET TO SEE THEM PERFORM LIVE SOMEDAY;;; I would seriously learn how to speak basic Lithuanian and save up to fly there to catch these adorable bastards, ALRIGHT GUYS WHO'S COMING WITH ME SIGN UP NOW AND GO MAKE SOME MONEY.
Apart from listening to the CD repeatedly and rewatching all their Share the Moment videos, I have also been up to some SRS BIZNESS in the form of:
YEAH I FINALLY BOUGHT IT HURRRHHH LOOKIT ALL THIS FOOD PORN CAN YOU HANDRE IT
Pierog and pirozhki
Zakuski
Blini
Ukrainian varenyky
It's titled Culinaria Russia but it also features sections for Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and it has stuff on the different special festivals in all those countries, caviar, fish, vegetables, meat, etc etc etc, so it's not just 100% recipes. My bedtime reading hurrdurr, it has such lovely lovely photos <333
Speaking of cooking, we had an international potluck buffet bash last Monday over here in the so-called Union State (because I live here and we all incidentally found out that Russia happens to stay in the same condo and block-cluster so she is practically next door IT IS MEANT TO BE I TELL YOUUU), it was a blast! I made a pile of beef pirozhki, our Ukraine made varenyky and potato cakes, Switzerland brought sausages and made rosti, Austria made apple strudel, Canada baked lovely cupcakes, Estelle made some kind of tortilla with sweet potato and apples in it I'm not quite sure what it's actually called haha, and Rox brought refreshing kimchi! Russia was, of course, the star bartender for the night <3 Food porn and other assorted sexytiemz are available on Facebook, ilu guys o3o
I should probably post up some of the stuff I've been doodling as part of the productivity challenge, but since my scanner has decided to be uncooperative with me these past few days, I'm sorry but evidence of how artistically fulfilling my life has been will have to wait until I figure out how to get my stupid computer to fricken detect the damn scanner. Artistic evidence aside, I finished reading Defiance by Nechama Tec and am currently in the middle of One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. I have also been working quite studiously on my Russian grammar and know some basic greetings in Lithuanian now fff;;;
