Channing's divorce is being finalized, it moves faster than I expect. Anyway, yesterday it was Dewan's lawyer who told the media: "We look forward to resolving these matters in a timely and straightforward way. Nothing in the world matters more to Jenna than the comfort and well-being of her daughter Everly. Everything Jenna has done and will continue to do is with that in mind."
The keyword here is "comfort", so what can bring "comfort" to Everly? Probably Channing's money. I wonder if eventually, Dewan can get the spousal support she seeks. Channing is now self-employed. I wonder if this fact will help his situation or not. Dewan seems to be doing pretty well herself, so does Channing need to pay for her comfort as well?
And later
The Blast obtained detailed information about Channing's request. Don't read those misleading headlines, here Channing asks a judge to put an official custody schedule in place. I am wondering if all his efforts, such as reducing work, documenting his time with Everly on social media are all for this arrangement. There are so much detail here:
Tatum is looking to establish regular visitation with his 5-year-old daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum. He is proposing that he have custody of Everly on Mondays and Tuesdays, Jenna to have custody on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and they alternate visitation on weekends.
He is asking for each of them to have two weeks of exclusive time with Everly during her summer vacation from school. Tatum is also proposing they split up Christmas Eve and Christmas Day evenly, with Tatum getting odd years and Dewan getting even. He proposes the opposite for New Year’s.
As for Everly’s birthday, Tatum proposes that unless there is a joint celebration planned, they split the day with her in half so she gets to see them both.
Halloween is clearly an important day - they spent the day together as a family last year - and Tatum wants to make sure it stays that way, writing, “The parties shall work together to try to spend Halloween together, trick or treating with Everly from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.”
Because both Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan’s families live outside of California, he is asking for both parties be allowed to travel with Everly anywhere in the United States without the other parent’s consent. Travel outside of the U.S. would require the other parent’s permission.
Tatum also filed his own declaration, lovingly going into detail about all he has done to make Everly’s life easier since the couple split up.
“In my opinion and experience,” Tatum writes, “Everly has appeared to adjust to our separation and living in two homes exceptionally well. I believe that she will thrive even more with structure and consistency because she is happy and more relaxed when she knows a plan.”
Tatum talks about how he rented a home after moving out and “decorated Everly’s room very girly in a fairytale and fantasy theme (i.e. Alice and Wonderland), with pictures of Everly with both [Jenna Dewan] and me on trips.”
The “21 Jump Street” star says he “put time and thought into making Everly’s room, as well as an outdoor art space at the house, as comfortable as possible for her to facilitate the transitions.” Tatum says Everly has “learned about different artists, such a Jackson Pollock, and we try to replicate his work as well as the work of other artists.”
He says that he has rearranged his work schedule and other obligations so they fall on the days he does not have Everly, saying, “I am committed to spending my custodial periods with Everly.”
Channing Tatum says the two enjoy playing tic-tac-toe together and says Everly “has an uncanny ability to win Candyland approximately 80% of the time.” The pair also watches “American Ninja Warrior” together and he has set up “obstacle courses in the backyard, which we run against each other and time.”
Everly also has recently started ballet class on Saturdays, which Tatum often takes her to. He also says she got the part of Lisa in “Mama Mia.”
Finally someone finally posted a video of Channing's appearance on Alan Carr Christmas Show on YouTube. He looked really good. The video is a bit more than 7 minutes, check it out here:
