A bit Channing news update
Channing will attend Kid's Choice Awards on March 24. I guess this is the opportunity for him to promote his upcoming animated movie - Smallfoot. His co-star Zendaya will attend too. There's a good chance that Channing will be slimed, and I wonder if he will bring his daughter to the show.
Another public event Channing will attend is Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park during the weekend of April 20-22.
Channing's most recent sighting was March 15th. It seemed he flew back to LA and immediately went to Craig's (a LA restaurant celebrities like to go). It's funny the caption the photo agency provides is like this: "Channing Tatum wears his hat low as he dines at Craig's without wife Jenna Dewan. March 15, 2018." I am sure she will attend Kids' Choice Awards with Channing. If not, who knows? Channing does not seem to be the type of person who craves spotlight, unless it is to promote his work. But Dewan has been behaving quite differently for some time now.
Finally, sorry some rant from me. I was browsing Twitter, and I came cross another tweet making fun of Channing's acting skill. The person wrote "This has replaced 'Block of Wood', my nickname for Channing Tatum, as the premier acting insult of our time." Then in the comment section, I saw a familiar ID. The person used to be in the Eagle fandom. I actually met the person once and we watched Magic Mike together with another fangirl. Anyway the person wrote "Channing is awesome as long as you don't give him anything serious to act out. If you do, the only help is to make the environment as realistic as possible, ie throw him into a Scottish river or make him eyefuck JB :P"
Have they watched Foxcatcher or Logan Lucky?
Anyway, everyone is entitled to have his/her opinion, but this brought back the feeling I had regarding The Eagle fandom long time ago. I always sensed there were Pro-Jamie and Pro-Britain fans who had prejudice against Channing from the very beginning. And often in their canon era setting fanfictions, there is this pride about Britain. I personally think ancient Romans have done more good than bad for the West. I remember back in 2015, when I visited Rome, I met an Italian fan there. We chatted a bit. She had the same feeling towards the English-speaking fandom. She is Italian and of course she is proud of her country's rich history. But when she read English The Eagle fanfictions, she was not very satisfied.
Too bad The Eagle fandom is small, the most frequently updated fanfictions on AO3 these days are not very good, so I feel a bit sad.
