The news of Channing Tatum/Joseph Gordon-Levitt's R-rated musical first came out on
Feb. 5th 2016. Now we get a update. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will also direct it, and the movie has a temporary title - Wingman. According to
Variety, the story follows two pilots who crash-land in Las Vegas. According to sources, the film is in the vein of “Pitch Perfect” meets “Book of Mormon,” with the dup covering Top 100 hits with a touch of adult humor. But there is no starting date yet because Channing needs to work on Triple Frontier with Tom Hardy this summer in Hawaii. I wish they can do it right after Triple Frontier, Channing, please work more on MOVIES!
These days Channing was busy preparing for the big opening of his Magic Mike Live show. He and his male dancers did a photoshoot for the Cosmopolitan magazine. I am not sure if he took his shirt off for the shoot. He is back to Magic Mike shape recently, so why not? The show will have a soft opening this Thursday, the official opening is April 21st. After that he will pack his thongs and report to duty in Hawaii.
The Las Vegas Review Journal has an
article, it says:
No question the “Magic Mike” name sells tickets. Some early performances are sold out, even as the show lands amid the well-established Chippendales and Thunder From Down Under revues.
The producers will find out if those early sales are based on misconceptions of Tatum regularly performing in the show. For the record, he is not. “There’s a very strong possibility that in any given month he could show up and do a guest appearance,” Faulk says. “It wouldn’t be a surprise if he is there, but he definitely is not in the show every night.”
One thing I am pretty sure is that Channing will be there on April 21st. The tickets from that day were sold out. Here is a video of the ever so friendly Channing with a fan at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas last Thursday.
