I was searching the internet, I came aross this: The £5million epic (epic??? As much as I like the show, I won't call it epic) was filmed in stunning locations in Wales and France. The Chateau de Pierrefonds, in the Oise region of France, stands in for the castle of Camelot. £5M, that's less than 8M US dollars. In US, the average cost of a Prime-time TV show is about 3M. That's why Merlin looks cheap from time to time. PS, Merlin Series 1 DVD complete will be released on Aug. 17, 2009. I guess Series 2 will air soon after that.
