My cousin is in London UK right now, so yesterday I encouraged her to go to see Brad Pitt. Pitt was there to close London Film Festival (LFF) with his new WWII movie FURY. Cousin basically live chatted with me through her 4-hour adventure. It seemed LFF was better organized than TIFF. For example, they actually assigned numbers to fans who waited to see stars walking red carpet. In TIFF, fans just gathered before the event. If one was lucky, one could get a good spot. My experience was not so positive this September. The crowed I was in was a bit chaos. Also my cousin said Pitt was the only star of the movie who walked the entire red carpet and stopped for fans. Other stars didn't stay as long as he did to pose pictures with fans. Here are her photos. Not the best quality.
Anyway, FURY was the No. 1 movie at the box office between October 17 and 19. It made 23.5M. It's a war movie, so it drew more male audience. Fury's demos were 60% male and 40% female with a 49/51 split under and over 35 years of age. This shows Brad Pitt is really an all-around movie star who appeals to both male and female, young and old.
Now, other news. 22 Jump street will be brought back to 400 theaters this Friday as a marketing move for its digital release on Oct. 28th. I hope this move will not affect Keanu Reeves' John Wick in any negative way though. Now John Wick, I am debating if I should watch it this Thursday at 9:30pm. I still have to work on Friday, so maybe I will just wait for a few more hours. Meanwhile, Keanu was back to Toronto to promote John Wick. Here is a lovely fan encounter
story. What a gentleman!
Finally, Channing did a photoshoot for MovieMaker Magazine to promote Foxcatcher.
