Channing and Jonah are busy promoting 21Jump Street right now. They have been to Sydney (Australia), Denver, Chicago and Georgetown by now. I think they probably will go to London (UK) at some point because the movie opens there on the same day (March 16th). Here's an excerpt of an earlier (spoiler-free) review:
The best part however and also the most shocking part is the chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. You really feel like these two people who probably shouldnt be best friends are best friends and even deeply care about each other, possibly a lot more than it seems...haha actually there's a lot of homosexual subtext here that is done for laughs but it goes to a point of being similar to 2 Fast 2 Furious. Not that that's a bad thing, I was just wondering at points if it was intentional or not.
I'm not surprised they go that route. Just look at Jonah's Superbad. It has homoerotic subtext as well. And I'm pretty sure it's intentional, because they promote it from the very beginning. However, Jonah is not Jamie, and this is a comedy, so I wonder if it will become a slash fandom's new favorite.
It's lucky that 21 Jump Street will be released between John Carter and The Hunger Games. Plus it's very different from the other two movies, so it has its chance to open No.1 at the box office. And obviously, the studio has faith in it because they have already greenlighted a script for a sequel. Can they bring in a British transfer student next time? Anyway, If 21JP does well commercially, Channing's status in Hollywood will be cemented.
