I always don't like Merlin in ep. 2x09. But I dislike him more after I get Merlin Official Annual 2011. Here is one paragraph from the book.

His destiny didn't matter. Arthur would be fine without him. All that mattered was that this lovelly girl needed him - and he could be happy with her. He could be himself.

I dunno..after all the shit Merlin has gone through, I can see him being selfish and on a spur of the moment going "Fuck this, I'm going to think about myself and no one else!" Because that's what I think this episode was trying to show. Merlin being selfish, wanting something for himself. His own LIFE. And you know, I can't blame him. Not to mention Arthur is a dick most of the time anyway. And Merlin can't trust him at all. That's sad.

Because you're a merlin girl, so you tend to remember those moments. In fact, Arthur saves Merlin's butt all the time since ep. 206.

Arthur being a dick (or a prat) is what the writers consider as an important aspect of the A/M dynamic. I think it's a poor judgement.

And I don't think it's Arthur's (wrong?) doings which make Merlin not trust him. It's Merlin's own doings, esp. after ep. 2x08. He made the decision which reinforces Arthur's foul attitude towards Magic.

Yes, it is poor judgment. It was fine in the first season, but after a while, Arthur needs to change with Merlin, otherwise Arthur really IS a dick, saving Merlin or not saving Merlin.

I can explain WHY he had to do what he had to do in 2x08, but I can't concentrate (too much pain right now). Just like I can explain why he had to do what he had to do in 2x12.

No, this was actual surgery. Had to lift up my gums, remove the infection, stitch my gums back. *sigh* Root canal's don't hurt that much after, actually. At least for me. Surgery? OW FUCK ME.

Root canal, I cannot type tonight. I hate dental surgery, very painful.
