I know some of my LJ friends went to the Merlin Panel at London MCM Expo. I have two simple questions.

1. How long was the panel session?
2. Were there as many male fans as female fans at Merlin Panel and autograph signing session?

Okay, here's the transcript. This girl talks really really fast, let me just say. And she talks. And talks. And keeps on talking. And I had to re-watch this, like 50, times. Still, I can't get enough of Colin's grin. *dies a little at the cuteness* And OH GOD, Johnny's expression when she mentions Arthur/Merlin. *cringe cringe cringe* And I think we now know who was the person waving that huge "I love Colin Morgan/Arthur/Merlin" banner.

Bradley: Hello!
Slasher girl: Konichiwa! (Means hello is Japanese). I'm told you're not allowed to-
Man in charge of the line: Just get in line (I cant understand the rest here)
Slasher girl: Thank you very much.
Man: No problem.
Bradley: What's your name?
Girl: Hannah.
Bradley: You were blue last time, right?
Girl: I didn't think you would recognise me. I have the photos in my bag but I wasn't allowed-you weren't allowed to sign them.
Bradley: You were the Arthur/Merlin fan, I remember.
Girl: Yeah, I was told later that it's an unwritten fangirls code. Don't mention the slash.

OMG, she shouldn't mention it to Johnny. Johnny is the person who always talks about Arthur/Gwen, their true romance blah, blah. OH NO!

I know! I seriously wanted to slap her when she mentioned it to him. And then I wanted to die when I saw Johnny's expression. Seriously, if we don't get the Arthur/Merlin subtext in season 2, it's all her fault.

Wow, yeah I watched that video and it has great close-ups of the boys but I'm totally embarrassed for her/everyone otherwise. Ack! I know, nervous, right but geez!

I literally cringed when she brought it up with Johnny. For some reason I'm totally fine with Bradley, but Johnny, he gets me nervous. He's part of the writing team, you know?...Yeah. *sigh*

Okay, so I rewatched a few more times and here are some amends.

Bradley: You were blue, I remember. You were the slash supporter. (This is what I believe he says, but I'm not 100% sure.)

It really makes me cringe to hear that girl talking about slash with them :/ but i wouldn't be worried about Johnny Capps. ;)

Yeah, it's pretty cringe worthy. And thanks for the link! I'm still apprehensive though. I mean, sure, he's produced quite a few shows now with gay characters, but they're girls/lesbians. I don't think Johnny is too comfortable with the slash/male gay aspect. Understandable, as he's a straight male.

You know, what worries me most? It is that encounters like these will affect Colin and Bradley's performances. Subconsciously, they will play their characters less slashly. Therefore we'll get less longing looks, or things like that.

YES! I think I mentioned this to you before? If not, then yes, yes! But for some reason I have a big feeling that our boys (especially Bradley) are going to milk it. Hopefully. And Colin, bless him, even when he isn't acting slashy, he just looks gay/bi/whatever (to me). LOLZ.
