Now that the Olympics are over (mind you, I paid super close attention to the aquatics and gymnastics centre- an obsession I got from my mom at the tender age of 2), it's time to turn my attention to something I have a love/hate situation with- High School.
I love high school for it's many activities, events, clubs, the interactions with students and teachers and the freedoms that I don't get to enjoy in Elementry and Secondary Schools. But within the package comes homework and worst of all, exams. @.@ I'm always nervous during tests and exams are even worse. I'm nervous just thinking about them. :S And of course, I've just transfered to a new high school so none of my friends from my old school is coming with me. Since I'm not very high on the High School's grade level, I'm a little nervous.
I just got a call from a Senior from Lisgar (my high school) the other day telling me of the plans for the first week of school. School starts a week from this day at 10:15am just for the day! Now how cool is that? We all get to stay in bed late! At lunch is a barbeque for the students and Wednesday is the actual start of school. Then on Friday is Spirit Day so our grade gets to go to some park for the day for fun. Then there's the clubs and events at lunch time jammed for the first 2 weeks. I think I'm packed for the week.
Since I wouldn't be posting much when school starts, I think I'll turn my LJ account mainly into a fanfic promotion place where I'll be promoting fanfic of the day. Of course, there are a lot of stories that I'd love to promote (for a full list check my fanfic account: Fallen-Snow) but I'm just going to post stories that I've checked out during the day that I thought were really well written. So for a start:
Fanfic of the Day: Unshaven and on the Loose by: Itami Kitsune and Taniita

For they, too, could sense what was about to happen.
In the darkest part of the shadows in the alley, right out of light’s reach, something evil was being created. Where it came from, how it came to be, nobody would know, but if someone had to guess, they’d probably say ‘Hell’. For where else could a living moustache be generated?
And not just a tuft of lip-hair, mind you. This living moustache was no laughing matter. It had a will of its own, and an evil one at that. It could even speak. Yet it could not move - nothing more than a twitch. That is, until it was stumbled upon by a certain Dark Lord by the name of Voldemort.>>
It's a rather amusing story about Remus Lupin's (From Harry Potter) moustache. Go read it!
