Speeding again
I'm back from 4 days in dial-up hell at my parents' house in Indiana. Man, that sucks.
The trip went well, though. Lilia was an angel on the airplane. She spent the whole time playing with her bear or saying "*pbbbt*" to other passengers and flight attendants. She slept through all four landings. It was awesome.
My parents had a party on Sunday and invited everyone they know in South Bend. Many of my cousins have kids near the same age as Lilia. I don't know if it's just my parental bias, but.... a lot of kids her age aren't as cute. I don't mean looks. They all seem fat, sluggish, and stupid. I know I'm comparing 80th percentile-sized children to my 3rd percentile, but there's such a difference. She moves around, reaches for things, talks a lot. These other kids just laid in their mothers' arms with their tongues sticking out. They rarely smiled, they never babbled. I'm sure both are perfectly normal, it just seems like either their kids are almost comatose or mine is a hyperactive spaz (but easy and "well-behaved").
Anyway. It's quite a relief to know that she's easy to travel with, at least for now. And I am glad to be back in Seattle.
