Lovin' Albion
It's good to be back. mmmhmm. Classes started yesterday. It was a busy day. I had calc II in the morning. I'm going in with a better attitude, so it should go better than last time... RDA II (psych research class) seems like it will go well. The prof seems really nice, and I liked RDA I (don't tell anyone though, b/c they'll think I'm weird. ;) lol). Ecology seems like it's going to rock as well. I felt smart in lab b/c I knew a bunch of answers to the prof's questions. yay me. And at our KD meeting, I was elected as the junior standards board position, which is like the sophomore standards position I had last year, except I'm a year older. ;)
Today was my first day back at work. I got a BIG raise! I feel like I should send flowers and a note to whoever pushed for minimum wage to be raised. I now make $7.10/hr. You have no idea how happy I am about that. There was just no way I would've been able to pay all of my bills making $5.35/hr. The work people also got me a new desk. It's big and pretty (as office furniture goes) and has drawers. I told Linda (the secretary) that I feel like I should bring in picture frames to decorate it. I wasn't serious, but she said I probably could. Maybe I'll bring a picture of Matthew McConaughey. hehe.
I'm way excited about my Animal Communication class. It's my first 400 level class. I feel like it's a big milemarker. Anyway, there's only 4 other students in the class, which is pretty cool. I didn't know any of them, but they all seem nice. After class, I went to go visit Dr. McCurdy, who gave me an update on my froggy plasma. Apparently the HPLC machine broke and the lab tech had a hard time fixing it, but it's pretty much fixed now, so I can finally get my analyses done. Dr. McCurdy also told me about a bunch of projects he's thinking of doing in the future, and from what it sounds like, I could have any of them... but I have figure out what I want to do first, so we'll see. I guess he may also have a position open for me this semester to do work in the lab that would count as half of a class. that would be good too.
It's been so great to see all of my Albion people.
And the room is so purdy.
Okay, I'm going to do hw now! yes, I'm even happy to do my hw these past 2 days (sick, I know, I know. lol)
