BECCA CAME TO SEE MY SHOW!!!! That was so awesome. Sorry I couldn't talk to you a bit more, my parents were there and one of our actors seriously screwed up for most of the play (can you guess? She left out an extremely critical part), so I had a lot on my mind. Thanks so much for coming. I would have given you a tour of the set (this is the set, here's the back), and let you play on it, but things were crazy busy and you had to duck out.
So anyway, my show was so awesome. The second night was AMAZING. Opening night was hot. Tonight, not so much. But it was still an awesome show. It was so full that we ended up pulling all the seats off the risers and making the audience sit on the floor. People were complaining, but we fit everyone in there, crammed until there was NO standing room. The other nights we crammed people in as well. We had 10-15 people more each night, until we were up near 80 people for a 40 person space. It was surreal!
So we struck the set tonight. It took an hour. Everything is down, but tomorrow is organization and clean-up. That'll take a couple hours. Plus I'm starting another show tomorrow. It's a professional show on tour on the mainstage, sponsored by the department, so this means I'll be working with a professional set, loaded in from a truck, getting paid sick money for many hours of work. Plus I'll have another professional production under my belt. It's a dance thing, I think, called Jane Comfort. No idea what its deal is. Plus I have the film I'm lighting. And I got the script for a second Camus that I'm doing the first week of December. Plus I signed on as Master Carpenter for the major deparmental production in the Spring. And I signed on for another show in Olde Club (the same rediculously small space I worked in for the Misunderstanding), as set designer/technical director in the Spring. It's called Art, about a white modern art painting. I guess I'll be doing that painting (something to add to the resume, I painted a very controversial and expensive modern art piece....). That's my schedule.
So I'm really tired now for little reason. I have a lot of work to do, but I'm happy. I had a great time with Joe this weekend. Now we get to do real boyfriend/girlfriend things, rather than just spend every hour of the day working on a project together. Sleepy time...
