Time of my life

I have been having such a great time. Real world theater is so different than high school theater, but I'll get to that later. The ML Halloween party was last night, and I had SO much fun. It was the best experience ever! I can't quite pin down where I've had that much fun in 4 hours before. I certainly do love authority, I guess.

I was a party associate, a student bouncer/party monitor. I was in charge of manning the only entrance to the rest of the dorm (basement, rest of 1st floor, 2nd and 3rd floors were all accessible ONLY by going through me). I was the only PA (party asssociate) from ML, so I knew everyone who belonged and who didn't, so I never left my perch on the landing, 4 steps up from the floor, the entire night. I met a variety of people, most of which were drunks wanting to find a bathroom, who varied from trying to push through me (a dire mistake, they soon found out) to asking my opinion of which bathroom was quickest. Many people just wanted to put their stuff places (and at the end of the night retrieve it), but I could not let them up with an ML resident in company, desipite if I knew them or not. This caused a lot of semi-drunk people to get very angry. Sometimes I would just watch their stuff for them. The best experiences were the drunks that I totally slaughtered with my verbal skills. The best part? I had an audience. A bunch of ML residents people-watched (they later admitted to mostly being there just to see me work) on the stairs above me, and totally appreciated every retort and take-down I uttered. Three times the power! I had power over these people, I had superior mind power over the drunks that confronted me, and I had an audience encouraging and supporting me.

I have a bunch of great stories, but the best ones are about Joe. Joe hung out with me the entire night (aww, how sweet! He danced and socialized for about half a hour, then came and stood on the stairs the rest of the night), and I used him as amunition a couple times, which was one of the funnest things I've ever done. Ok, I'm a strong person for a girl. My strength is to girl as Joe's strength is to guy. It doesn't matter that we're the exact same height. This one drunk who got right up in my face (which I didn't like, so I let him know it by pushing him down the stairs, with 2 fingers) kept coming back for more verbal abuse. After he got back into my face (he was quite upset that I pushed him down the stairs), I calmly kept pulling winning retort after winning retort out of my bag of tricks, ace, ace, ace. The exchange was something like this:

Drunk: Oh my God! So are you going to push me down the stairs then??
Me: Yes, I am.
D: Or are you going to beat me with your club? (refering to the nightstick at my belt, I dressed up as a policewoman under my PA uniform)
M: I could, but I'd prefer to use the knife at my belt.
D: So you think you could take me?
M: Yes sir, I do.
D: You think you could beat ME up?
M: Well, if I can't, my boyfriend certainly can.
D: (taunting) Where's your boyfriend?
M: Right there. (I point sightly to Joe, leaning against the wall, a person-length from drunky)
D: (slow pan of head to Joe, freeze) ... You're her boyfriend?
Joe: Yes sir, I am.
D: Oh. (goes away quickly)

I have so many more excellent stories! I just love them so much!!! That was complete authority!! And you guys all know how much I love authority and command.

Anyway, I spent pretty much 36 hours straight with Joe, from 2 am Friday night, to 4:30 Sunday afternoon, with only about 3-4 hours apart. What a happy weekend.
