one more dentists drill before i go......
so it's been a little while since the last time i updated this thing......i've started to a few times now but things just didn't feel like they were coming out right. anyways, heather left a week ago. she's staying with her sister in toronto until she leaves for australia on the 21st of october. i'm staying here at my parents place until friday, when i get on a bus heading east and am going to try and settle down in halifax - most of these things i've mentioned before. since my last update my head is one tooth lighter (had the broken wisdom tooth yanked last thursday) and my earlobes are one gauge bigger (bought some double-zero plugs today and stretched em up). life feels really fucked up right now and i really don't know what the hell i'm doing. my brain's a mess and the world seems even worse every time i hear any sort of news from the world outside this weird suburban bubble that i've been holed up in. i sit around the house watching movies or staring at the computer all day and then occasionally attempt to interact with other humans with mixed results. a girl invited me to come home with her friday night after hanging out at the bar with doug, the mohawked former assistant manager at the video store (actually it was doug's roommate) and she ended up having to go to the hospital when the medication she'd been on started reacting badly with the alcohol in her system and ended up causing some sort of weird heart trouble - she's okay now but we haven't really spoken much since. saturday i went into edmonton and went to see a matinee of Shaun Of The Dead and then caught a couple of shows - The Wolfnote definitely lived up to all the hype around them at the all ages show at maxi homewreker's loft and the two grindcore bands at the other show that i went to to meet up with rich and good ol' gary bizek (another old friend from back in calgary up for a weekend visit) really just didn't do it for me....i guess i'm just getting a little tired of the "bathroom humor and blastbeats" schtick or something. sunday was hungover, lazy and uneventful and yesterday i ended up picking up some new cheap duds courtesy of a shopping trip with my mother - including a spiffy old man-style yellow pinstripe shirt that looks like it should be worn with a bolo tie or something. today was another solo trip into edmonton for the aforementioned pyrex flesh tunnels and a general escape from the fort to drink too much coffee and wander around the hipster neighborhood south of the university. i also managed to score second-hand copies of the book Hard Times by Studs Terkel (probably one of my favorite writers) and the newest Dead Prez album (which isn't nearly as good as "Let's Get Free", but pretty good nonetheless). tommorrow is my last appointment chez doctor karach to get a root canal and a couple more fillings and then it's just running the clock down until i get on the bus friday morning. i think it's bedtime now as my appointment's fairly early in the am i guess it's over and out for now.
