drinking beer in front of the computer at 2am.
heather got back from regina earlier after a rather traumatic visit with her dad on the turf of his evangelist compadre, the evil-beyond-words van johnson, now she's in bed recovering from a cold just in time for the big trip avec mes parents to drumheller/calgary/banff/jasper/grande cache on this long weekend. after she went to bed i went on an investigative tour of the fort sask nightlife which consisted of a)amateur strippers shaking their thangs to bad nu-country at the fort hotel(usually it's just a lame smalltown danceclub but aparently tonight was some sort of "special occasion"), b) middle-aged alcoholics betting on simulcast horse races at Branches, and c) weird old dudes with no teeth watching John Candy movies on TV at the Brant....which leads me to the conclusion that there really is very little if not anything at all to do in this town. returned home to kill the restof the beer bought by my father while watching High Fidelity and am in the process of draining the last of said brewskis while drawing the conclusion that Nighttime/Anytime It's Allright by the constantines is indeed one of my favorite songs of the past couple of years. i rarely ever touch the devil booze as of late so it's hit me a little harder than it would in times past....now the winamp playlist has progressed to the Pink Mountaintops and my previous statements to whomever would listen that Steve McBean is one of the unsung heroes of underground music in this strange ragtag collection of suburbs and tourist traps strung together by railroads, beer commercials and the hudson's bay company that we like to call a country ring altogether true once more. jeeeezus these fucking computers shoudl have breathalizers attached to prevent such drunken pretentious drivel as this to ever hit the internet.........discuss.
