Tropical Bird Look

Feb 05, 2010 16:58

It's Friday, I don't have work until 7pm, and I got out of class at 10 this morning. Give me a bunch of colorful eyeshadow and some feathers and I'll keep myself entertained :)

I'm really digging the colors I used, they sort of remind me of a peacock :D Though If I can get some peacock feathers I'll probably do a full on peacock look, so we'll see how that goes.

More pictures and a brief tutorial on how I did it behind the cut.

Dook dook.

Anyway, you're going to want to start off by priming your eye and letting it dry. I also chose to put dark blue creme shadow all over my lids, and then dark green on the outer corners, but that's optional if you don't have any.

Then take a light leaf green color [I used the Coastal Scents 88 matte palette for this look] and apply it from the outer corner of your lid to just past the middle. Also take the green color all along under your eye. Then take an aqua-blue color and apply that from the inner corner to where the green stops, blending away any harsh lines. Take a pale green [I used the palest green on this palette] and apply that as a highlight, blending it down into the colors on your lid. After that, take a dark green and blend it into your outer crease.

To add a pop of contrasting color, apply a hot pink to the inner corners. Line your upper lid with brown liquid liner, your waterline with green eyeliner, and apply brown mascara [I personally preferred brown with this look, but if you want to use black, go ahead].

I also applied a bit of pink blush.

For the lips it would be easiest if you happened to have a crazy blue lipstick, but I don't, so I had to improvise. I applied lipgloss to make my lips sticky, then dabbed that same aqua-blue color from my eyes all over my lips, then patted a little bit of sky blue in the middle as a highlight.

Optional! Glue some bright feathers next to your eye with eyelash glue.

Hope you guys enjoy!

xoxo,
Kirsten
