The hands had freaked Jane out a lot at first, to be honest. For all of Lawndale's weirdness, disembodied hands were not part of it.
At least until she figured out that they actually made a great subject, and so if anyone wanted her, she'd be at her easel, painting a line of hands marching across a floor... with a hand posing for her so she could get the angles right.
"No, that's good," Jane told it. "But if you could maybe turn a little to the left."
