I understand now why the untransformed ones who had seen that Barge before were so apprehensive. I am unscathed, but have been given...much food for thought.

I keep having to rebreak my nose in order to try and get it to set correctly....

...excellent shot!

[Friends filter]That was...I was definitely one of the lucky ones. ( Read more... )

got a question over here, dogged attempts at...something, wtf barge?, here have some wtf, deep thoughts, at least the plant survived, signs of change, crumbling denial, unvarnished opinions

Thanks for helping that other version of me. I'm not really the same guy, but I can still appreciate a kind gesture.

It was a small matter. In my opinion your work requires an editor but is not without merit. And I am also a voracious reader on this Barge.

That wasn't really my kind of work. I write better than that, when I bother to.

Mine always comes out like battlefield reports. It is why I have never written my memoirs.

My alternate could, however, surprisingly.

Writing's overrated anyway.

In my case, I just want the truth out in a way I know to be accurate.

Then you shouldn't read anything non-fiction. The Bible is lucky enough to have multiple perspectives to show you that they don't agree on events. Everyone else is just making shit up and filling in blank gaps in their memories with charming anecdotes they know people will love. Selling the book is more important than being honest in it these days.

...hm.

An interesting point of view. Unromantic, but for that, I suspect all the more accurate.

I'm sorry if it disappoints you. You seem like an intelligent guy. I figured you should know better.

I am not disappointed; it adds a bit of insight into the modern world. In my time historians might have held but a single viewpoint, but sensationalism was not the point.

I was born in 1423, and existed until the late nineteenth century.

Huh. I wouldn't have guessed that. I'm impressed, actually.

I am adapting to what is generally considered "modern" as quickly as I can. But yes, I am a walking history viewpoint.

Do you mind if I ask you some questions? Not right now, but at some points in the future, when I'm trying to get a more accurate picture of certain circumstances.

Not at all, not at all. Perhaps we can help each other out. Modern technology and culture rather fascinate me, you see.
