Watching the news coverage of the effects of hurrican Katrina is so devastating. So many people lost their homes, their lives, and their loved ones. I can't possibly imagine what they're going through. Mother nature can be so cruel sometimes :( Its wrath is something no one can never win against. *sighs* My thoughts and prayers go out to those who are affected by this catastrophe.
On a different note, I've had several job interviews. 2 from Trader's Joe and one from Honda American Motors, Co. They don't seem very promising though. But I'm keepin' my head up anyway. I'm really aiming for the Imaging Assistant job position @ a nearby hospital. I hope I get it *fingers crossed* It'll be a great learning experience since I'm going for that kind of field. I'll get some hands-on training as far as working with patients goes.
I've been spending some quality time with my mom and sis these past weekends. Yesterday, we ate lunch @ Grand China Buffet. We all got our money worth it. The food was great and we were all hungry as hell. Well, I didn't eat breakfast. Go figure. Haha. We took mom to Point Vicente in PV. It was really nice out... and breezy. The ocean view was breathtaking as always. We drove around the big beautiful houses in Palos Verdes Estates. We like doing that. Haha. Uh-oh, I think our lil' get together on a Sunday is becoming a habit. I don't mind it at all, of course. I love my mom and sis to death. I don't know what I'd do without 'em!
Last night was a trip. It was Auddie's bday and she had a party. Seppie, Kim, Mae, and I were invited. Glad Mae was able to make it this time. Hehe. Auddie gave us a lil' tour of her spacious new room. It's pretty neat. I love all the posters she hung on her wall, especially the Sin City ones. Hehe. She's got a lil' figure of Batgirl and Wonder Woman. I told her she needs a Super Girl, too! Hehe. The party was pretty fun. It was great to finally meet Corey, Auddie's boyfriend. He's such a sweet guy. Very nice, down-to-earth, Italian guy. mmhhmm Auddie hit a jackpot! She and Corey are so cute together! I'm jealous of what they have! Haha. So there were lots of finger foods, chicken wings, and chips. I had to stay away from the sushi. I'm allergic to shrimp :( Then it was time for some Corona Extra consumption. mmmmhhhhmmmm Need I say more? Hehe. Before Kim picked me up, I made sure I brought a lime. Haha. I take life with a chilled bottle of Corona Extra and a wedge of lime. lol j/k. Auddie's dad got a lil' bar... so, I joked, "Is the bar open yet?" Hehe. Auddie and I had a couple of shots of rum and scotch. That was heavenly! Hehe. No one else wanted to join us... not even Corey. Well, he had to drive home. Actually, I think everyone @ the party was driving home but me. Sensible kids. Haha. Auddie's bro Jarod hugged me and gave me a lil' kiss on the cheek. He said, "It's been a while..." Aww, he's always been such a sweetie. Hehe. He also mixed some drinks for us. He gave me some rum w/coke... and I had some of Auddie's screwdriver. I had a variety of drinks last night. I know it's not a good thing, but I was able to stomach all of it. Haha. I swear, enough alcohol consumption can really get me goin'. The whole time, we just basically sang karaoke and oh boy, I think I sang their ears out. I was on fire! But mostly made a fool out of myself. LOL. But dude, one of Auddie's cousins sings really well. She ought to try out for American Idol. Seriously. There were times when we all sang together such as singing a Spice Girl song. Ah, good times, good times. Hehe. If my memory serves me right, I sang, Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" Not sure I gave 'em justice, but whatever. Haha. Then, I sang Knockin' On Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan, which is one of my favorite songs to sing on karaoke. I sang, "Everything I Own" by Bread, a homage to my mom and dad. It's their song. Aww... Hehe. I sang, Air Supply's "All Out of Love" *sighs* James sang this to me on a tape recorder years back. Aww... Hehe. I sang some Filipino songs, too! Some were even very depressing to hear. But hey, depresing songs are soo good! I sang Aegis' "Luha" meaning "Tears." It's quite high but I did the best I could which was probably not so good. Damn alcohol. Haha. Seppie liked Auddie's ice cream cake so much that he had several slices of it. Haha. Auddie got caked and so did Corey! That was fun to watch! Haha. Auddie's parents were being the cool parents that they've always been. Her mom is so nice. Very attentive of her guests. Hehe. Jill and her boyfriend came very late just when we were about to leave. There was some awkwardness between us and We haven't seen each other in the longest... and um, let's just say Jill's not very real. She's changed so much and as Seppie put it, she's "socially inept." Hell, I didn't even know if I'd hug her back or what. *sighs* Anyway, this time, I needed a break from singin'... time to eat a lil'. Haha. I believed one of the last songs I sang was t.A.T.u.'s "All The Things She Said." HAHA! So, it was time to say our goodbyes. I was half drunk, half sober. Haha. Nah, I wasn't drunk at all. I wanted to get drunk, but it's all good. I didn't need to consume an excessive amount of alcohol to have fun. I never did. I keep it cool, ya know. Auddie's mom was like, "You're not driving home, are you?" I said, "Of course not. Kim is the designated driver." Hehe. She also told us to come by anytime. I guess they liked our company. We're a fun bunch :) All in all, I had a great time @ Auddie's party. It was really fun!
Thursday, I finally heard from James. He made my whole day. For a while there, I thought I was being ignored. But he's really just been busy with everything goin' on in his life right now. He's so focus on his studies and I think that's great. He did hint that he's pretty much single and not really looking :D He knows I'm single too... and even gave me a lil' advice in the end saying, "Choose well. You're a wonderful person. You deserve someone wonderful too. Missing you so much!!!! ;(" Aww... isn't he the sweetest guy ever?! I LOVE HIM!
