what's this? am i still writing in my livejournal... six years later? i can't decide if that's sad, or kind of neat.
so here's what's up...
i graduated from columbia college chicago with a bfa in graphic design.
i worked my tail off all summer doin my design, photography and serving thing.
i packed up my life, piled it all into the back of my new car and drove 2200 miles to los angeles, california with mary and roland at my side - homeless, jobless and more excited and happy than i think i've ever been in my life.
after two weeks of living out of our cars, crashing on numerous couches (thanks to dear friends), and spending endless hours in starbucks killing time, i somehow managed to land myself a design job with agi media, one of the leading global packaging and creative services. the projects i'm working on are blowing my mind - little big planet... nba jam... resident evil... dragon age... harry potter - i don't want to jinx it, but i thought i'd be doing a lot more bullshitting before i made my way into working for such a fun and exciting company. the people that i work with are wonderful and i'd be lying if i said i didn't look forward to waking up every morning to head to work. this is the best start i could imagine out here, and i am so incredibly grateful for the people who have helped me get here.
mary and roland are both working in their fields as well! mary is working for fashion designer victor wilde of the bohemian society and roland has been workin on the set of a feature film for the last three weeks! excitin stuff - so proud, and so lucky to have them here with me :)
i'm already missin crisp fall weather and the attire that comes along with it, but i'll be back in the midwest for some turkey action in no time!
