Not knowing which way is up or down a stranger hands me a toothless grin; I look away and watch the trees in the distance sway back and forth while casting shadows that play hide and seek on the desert shore; "Don't let me go Don't let me go," echoes; And I remember the night I made a wager with the devil; "Don't let me go "Don't let me go," echoes; Handing me an ace, He said with a malicious look on his face, "Don't trip on your way in." Not knowing which way is up or down a toothless old man hands me a wasted grin; Only he knows the kind of hell I'm in.
