I wrote the cop who gave me a ticket a letter.
Dear Officer,
Along with this letter I have enclosed a check for the speeding citation you gave me. I can only hope the people working at the Justice of the Peace office were kind enough to pass on my message. I just wanted to thank you for giving me a citation on my birthday. I truly feel safer knowing that brave men like you are protecting our society from villainous scum who wake up before dawn to visit their mother on their birthday. I could only hope that some day I could have a job such as yours that allows me to sleep better at night knowing I made a difference in some ones life; I also hope that compassion such as yours will spread in a world that has become so heartless in recent years. Maybe, just maybe, some day all of us can see the world in the beautiful light you do. I wish you the best your karma has earned for you.
