So yes...it's quarter to one on Thursday morning. I figured that now is a better time than any to update this. I could be doing something productive-ish like visiting WebMD or some other medical website and learning what renal is, because that's what the disease of the week is at Camp Sunshine the week I go. Which happens to be next week.
I pretty much have everything that I need to go, I just need to borrow Julia's tunic to wear for costume night. We went to Target earlier and stocked up on sample bottles of shampoo and conditioner, as well as regular sized boxes of snacks, and a bag of baby Goldfish. *giggle* They're Goldfish! Only mini-sized!! =D
Yeah...kinda excited to go to Camp Sunshine. Also kinda annoyed that Miss Annoyingpolishsuckyhistoryteacherlady hasn't called yet to inform me as to when we are meeting at the AC on Sunday. She said she'd be in touch. That was before school ended. Now we're leaving in three days and...I have no idea what's happening. I hope I get to room with someone I don't hate, because that could just result in a week of "Ohdeargodgetmeoutofhere" repeated quite often.
In a happy update since my last entry...my CDs came in! And my computer's been fixed! I've only properly listened to two of the three CDs so far, despite having them for a good month now. I absolutely love those two though: "We Don't Need To Whisper" by Angels and Airwaves, and "Everything in Transit" by Jack's Mannequin. Number three is "Transatlanticism" by Death Cab for Cutie, which I have yet to pronounce right, I believe. And the dealie with my computer. Oh yes. Such glee! When I ended up calling Dell, I got to talk to this wonderful tech support guy named Raj. He was very helpful, but we couldn't identify what was wrong. So I got to mail my computer to a magical land where certified people look at and fix things like computers. Turns out I needed a new motherboard, and that my computer is still under warrantee. So all is well now.
In a not-so-happy update since my last update...I was guilted into taking AP English. Both Mr. Conry and Mrs. McGuirk stormed our English class and were all "Well, as of right now only seven people are signed up to take AP, and we can't see having a class with that small a number of people. Y'all that aren't taking AP will never get into college because they'll see that you started slacking your senior year by taking Level 1 instead of AP. Rar rar rar. I have too much skin under my neck." Eventually, their scare tactics worked. Maddie, Joe and myself gave in. There were others, but we three are the only ones I remember. Now, both Maddie and Joe have seven classes next year, two of which will now be AP. Maddie's taking two languages: Latin V and French I. Joe's taking two sciences: Anatomy and Physics. As for me, I just have the regular six, Media Center Aide-ing during whatever study I have. Then there's Ther, who'll be taking seven classes, but she was signed up for AP English all along, so I don't have sympathy for her.
I need to start my summer reading: four books for English, then The Aeneid and finishing translating "Apollo and Daphne" for Latin. Gah.
It's now about a quarter past one...and I'll end on a happy note:
Jon and I saw Jon Stewart bagging groceries at Market Basket today! It wasn't really Jon Stewart, just a lookalike. It was fabulous, and I wish I had a camera phone.
