So after three days of school, I believe I can honestly say that Junior year shouldn't suck, or at any rate, that the sucky parts will be (hopefully) far outnumbered by the non-sucky ones. Even the class that I am already predicting will be my demise this year, English, is immediately counteracted by Pre-Cal the period after. There's something like thirty-two people in Honors English, mostly because no one failed out of it last year due to the utter lack of McGuirk-esque Honors Sophomore English. I probably wouldn't be in Honors English this year. ANYWAY! I must admit, in all my math geek-ness, I'm really looking forward to Pre-Cal. There's only eleven in our class, and it would have been twelve if Greg hadn't changed schools, but everyone is mostly happy and they get the concepts easily enough. That, and I ♥ math. *pushed glasses up the bridge of her nose with finger while using inhaler* Latin is going to be awesome, as long as we aren't forced to spend forever on everything like we did last year. And the prospects look good on that front, since the likes of Emily Keeting (Keating?) and most of those like her have dropped Latin. XD!
Chemistry, as of now, doesn't seem like it's gonna be that bad, but I'm prepared to change that at any given time based on what I've heard from Julia, Ralf, Mo, etc. U.S. History doesn't seem like it'll be as bad as I originally thought, despite not having Mr. Duynstee
And I think I might just have a problem with Religion this year. We had to look over the book for homework, and it's full of that ubercatholic, if-you-don't-absolutely-believe-what-Catechism-teaches-you're-going-to-hell thinking that I absolutely cannot stand in the least. Be Catholic, be conservative, I don't care. Just don't force your values and views on me. kthanks
Anyway! I finished painting my room and it looks swell indeed! However, I developed a strong hatred of painters' tape. And I wrote "Ode to Painters' Tape" in its honor. Here it is:
"Painters' tape:
You suck,
Please go away and die.
And don't take my paint with you this time."
I know, I know, poetry at its finest. Damn tape takes forever to put up, and then when I tried to take it off of the wall, my nice Holiday Torquoise paint came off of the wall with it. >=O But I'll be posting pictures as soon as I get around to registering them on PhotoBucket. Hopefully soon.
And as for my minor annoyance of the day, I had "Speak Slow" by Tegan and Sara stuck in my head all day. I love the song, but it made concentrating in school fairly difficult. Trying to do my math homework in Study, I was trying to think "M=(((a+c)/2) , ((b+d)/2))" *the Midpoint formula* When all of a sudden..."You wait up for me, I don't wake up for you. Would you like the company, or are you sick of me? When your love lets you go, you only want love more. Even when love's not what you were looking for..." So of course, when I got home I played it over and over again in an attempt to get it out of my head. Maybe soon I'll switch to something like "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" by The Postal Service or "Bandages" by Hot Hot Heat. They're prone to getting stuck, and it'd be a welcome change of pace.
Oh! We got our uniforms for volleyball! I'm number four, and our first game's Friday at Leominster High. I'm gonna actually play this year, which is very exciting. Jon's going to the game, which is exciting because we never have anyone there watching. Well, hardly anyone. The more the merrier!
