Quite the long day.....
Today I would consider the biggest highlight of being in a band so far since the conception of Fire at Will. We have an entirely new song that we absolutely love. We have great friends that are always there and support us. On top of that we are recording this Monday and we'd love to have anybody come out and chill with us.
I woke up around 12:30 and forced myself to play some Final Fantasy X-2 because my rental is almost due in blockbuster. So I pretty much got to haul ass to beat this shit or their gonna chop off an arm and a leg if I bring it back a day late. Thats what I cant stand about places like Blockbuster that have completely monopolized the renting industry. They allow themselves to overcharge forgetful people and we need to make a stand! I feel that a boycott is necessary at this point and anyone should feel free to join me, were in this together.
We then had a short band practice to warm up a little bit and then headed out for something to eat and ended up going Wendys which is really top-nocth fast food which might sound like an oxymoron. We then proceded to fit all our equipment into Stefano and Romi's car. We came to the show which ended up having an awesome turnout. I saw good friends like Armando who I can hopefully hang out with more before summer ends and Josh who used to be a good friend of mine so I got to catch up with him a little too.
When we played our set I was actually surprised how well we played our new song and was pumped about the rest of the songs. I was also excited that great people such as Peter, Joey, and Will behind us and giving us compliments. Besides that lots of things went wrong, the mosquitos were awful, there was a pool right in front of the stage which created back dynamics. It was also rainy and that left the entire area a little gloomy. Also the humidity made the guitar strings very sticky. Lots of the other bands that were playing did good. Unfortunately LeJeune got really screwed over playing last because they weren't able to get a mic and then some words got said between bands that casued a 4 on 1 fight that was very immature and pointless, but hey thats how things go. On the plus side I met tons of people and had a good time socializing with old carver kids.
After the party a group of people including myslef went out to Steak n' Shake and had an awesome time. I totally punk'd Joey and he will never be given any slack so if yore curious as to what happened I'll be happy to tell you in person. Then Josh and I went to Stefanos and chilled. After Stefano passed out Josh and I walked down to my house and have been to talking about life for the past few hours. Good times.
I want to thank Janessy* for giving us the opportunity to play in front of a new crowd of people and for all of you there who enjoy are style of music.
