*not perturbed in the least*

Hah!  It appears as though whatever gods above can't decide whether they want me dead or not.  I even have my sword with me, though my mount is gone.

Hm...  I'm not quite sure where I am, but there are soldiers and there is a large dragon.  Ah, this is much better than wherever I've been lately!

[he looks eeeeevil]
You arrived very recently, it seems. Please state your name and intentions.

[Hah! I saw that!]

If you are unaware of my identity even after observing my attire, it would probably be best to drop the titles. My name is Ashnard, and before I "state my intentions" here, I would like to know where "here" is.

Here is the Unknown Continent. A land unknown even to those living here for months. And I do not recognize your attire.
I am Princess Eirika of Renais ...sir Ashnard?

Not Tellius, eh? This will be quite interesting... I suppose I'll be here for a while, at any rate. Well, Princess Eirika of Renais, I am pleased to make your acquiantance. It's been a while since one has called me by the title of "sir", heh heh.

[Born into your rank? I wonder, are you worthy of your high standing?]

lovelyeirika June 16 2009, 01:58:08 UTC
Ah, so you are also from Tellius.
And if you consider sir to be inappropriate, then how else should I address you?

king_ashnard June 16 2009, 02:06:37 UTC
Also? I am not the only one, then. [Which may pose a problem...] Who else is here?

Heh. Apprehensive, perhaps, but not afraid at all. If you must know my true standing, then I suppose I am King Ashnard of Daein!

...Or, rather, I was. I was recently slain by the young son of one of my best generals... Impressive, to say the least. I am obviously not the king anymore, so "sir" will work just fine.

Many different, winged creatures.

The King! I, I... Ah. Slain? So you have returned here from the other side. What was the reason?

king_ashnard June 16 2009, 02:22:25 UTC
Wings, you say! Then there are sub-humans in this strange land.

Hahaha! You looked rather flustered there, for a moment. The reason for my death or the reason for my return? I'm not sure if I can answer the latter, unfortunately. [No complaints, though.]

I do not think that they prefer to be called "sub-humans". Nor would it be appropriate to say that about Mamkutes.

Flustered? Perhaps. [tries to hide a weak smile]
But only because it is not every day that I meet the king from a continent I have never visited and hadn't heard of before arriving here.

Cannot answer? Then answer this; did you deserve to be killed?

king_ashnard June 16 2009, 02:42:43 UTC
You are correct. It makes them quite angry, in fact. But I'm afraid that as that is what I have been taught, that is what I shall call them, and they will simply have to put up with it. Though I will consent to controlling myself where it concerns "Mamkutes", whatever those are.

Hah! This is true, I suppose. It's not as though you meet a king every day, even within your own continent...

If someone has managed to pull it off, I would say I deserved to be killed, wouldn't you?

Mamkutes are similar to the animal hybrids. They have the ability to, ah, transform into dragons, so to speak.

It could have also happened because someone else wished to take over. Not necessarily because you deserved it personally. But it is not for me to decide.

[she is still not sure of what he's like, so after a short pause she adds]
...Though I trust that you will be more careful as far as this continent is concerned. Do not attempt to wreak destruction or spread evil as you might have done before.

We also have... were-dragons, as it were.

Hmph. As far as I am concerned, positions of power belong to the strong. If I have fallen in battle, then the victor deserves the spot more than I. Birth matters little.

[notices the pause, but thinks little of it]
Hah, as long as I have a worthy dueling partner, I'll be fine! That beast over there will do, for now...

[Ashnard leaves, pulling Gurgurant from... wherever he keeps that thing. Honestly, it's huge]

You should do your best to live up to your position if you have been born with such a title.

If you are able to slay the beast, then please do.
