FWA09 Furries On Safari Report
Thursday - Arrive in Atlanta around 6:30 and take Marta Transit to the hotel. Check in, take shower, get ready for the dance. 8:00 register for FWA and get badge 917, do a double take to verify, holy shit there's a lot of furs here already. 9PM-3AM dance (glow-stringing) then head up to room to pass out.
Friday - Get up around 9, take Shower and head up to the con suite for breakfast. Head down to the 2nd floor and look around some. 11-12 opening ceremonies. 12-1 look around dealers den some and just wander about and mingle. 8:30PM-3AM in main event room for the various music stuffs. After 3 stumble to elevators and up to room to pass out.
Saturday - 9AM get up and take shower then head up to con suite for breakfast. 10-12 attend the foaming your furry noggin panel. 1-2 watched the parade. 2-3:30 attended the CCI presentation and auction. 3:30-4:30 wander around dealers den and buy a Folkmanis wolf puppet and a Wolf Crossing sign (looks like a road sign). 4:30-6 team fur-suit games. 6:30-8 furies got talent show. 8:30-10 Hali of Furpine (a most excellent musician, very worth checking out if you haven't already). 10-11 2's rant, much lolz to be had. 11-3 the dances.
Sunday, get up around 10 and do the usual morning routine. 2-3 Uncle Kage's Story Hour for more lolz. 3:30-5 more team fur-suit games. 6-7 closing ceremonies. 9-3 the dances. Tonight they had blue-screens setup for the projectors and furies were being naughty behind them, lots of lolz resulted. Also, someone Rick-rolled the dance. In addition, I feel it's worthwhile to mention shortly after closing ceremonies I bumped into Duncan the Dog and we hung out for a bit before & after the dance. Since I didn't have a room tonight he let me stay in his. Monday morning I had the chance to talk with him and get to know him a little. He's a really nice guy. And his suit is adorable, photos/vids simply can not do it justice. I didn't really want to leave when I did Monday as was enjoying talking with him. Hopefully we can get to know each other better, not sure why but I sensed a kindred spirit when talking with him, I felt more at ease around him then I do with most people, odd I know. I'm not sure yet, but if I can make arrangements I plan to invite him to RMFC which is a local fur-con. *Hugs n scritchies to the uber cute husky, malamute, wolf mix*
Summary - I had a great time and am glad I could make it, and many heart felt thanks to Duncan, a new furiend.
