A little late

Late to talk about this, but the new nano 6th generation is finally out.

After contemplating and passing the chance to get the previous one, I've been looking forward to what apple had in mind for the public this year.

They've lost the classic scroll wheel navigation that the previous 5 generations had, in favor for a touch screen. It's a shame since I quite like being able to control the songs without looking at the screen. Looks like if I had something like that, I'd have to invest in earphones with controllers (which are also available in the apple store).

The video and audio recording function has been dropped. Video playback is not available in the 6th generation and "notes, contacts, calendars, stopwatch, and alarms" have been taken out as well.

What does that leave you?

Audio playback function, touch screen (as mentioned), shake to shuffle (present in previous generations), VoiceOver, FM radio with LIVEpause, pedometer, genius mixers and a clip on device. The clip on device allows you to attach it to your bag, pocket, whatever, which I guess can be handy when you're going for a run, or if you just want to clip it somewhere so you wouldn't have to dig around your bag to look for it. I wonder if there would be skins for this model and if there is, how is it going to work out with the clip function. Obviously, this is much smaller than the previous few (including that ugly 3rd generation, sorry to offend anyone who likes/has it lol).

Hmm.. not as exciting as the previous model because I was very interested in the video and audio recording function, but it seems like there were concerns with people having to leave their nanos at home due to it. That is to say, abolishing these functions are supposedly a good thing as it allowed people to bring nano(s) to places where video recording is not allowed.
