TCM yesterday - in succession they showed Captain Blood, The Prisoner of Zenda, Somebody Up There Likes Me and The Year of Living Dangerously.
This afternoon, I watched several episodes of Sci-Fi's 'Firefly' marathon. I hadn't watched it before. Quite liked it, but with two qualifications:
1. The dialogue was so often reminiscent of the banter in 'Buffy' that I found myself thinking which character from that series it would have been written for.
2. Why didn't Joss Whedon just make a western series?
Still, I think I'll give Serenity a look when it comes out.
Also enjoyed Scrapheap Challenge - one team built a repeating crossbow firing discarding sabot shells loaded with bolts. It didn't work, but I loved the concept - I'm going to steal it for a D&D game some time.
