Green spaces

After work yesterday, I took my bat and batting tee to the nearby playing fields. It was a sunny evening, and although I had plenty of space to practice knocking balls around there were other people there too. There were parents with children, a couple of couples, dog walkers and joggers. Someone was doing yoga. A football game started up. It was great to see Londoners coming out of their hutches to enjoy the fresh air.
I thought I'd lost one of my softballs, as it was nowhere near the others when I went to retrieve them after a round of hits. I looked around for it and had pretty much given it up as lost in the long grass. I walked off the field in the direction I'd been hitting, for one last look, and found it quite easily. I'd just hit it further than I'd thought.
