Made myself a chicken curry on Friday night.
Yesterday, I went over to Finsbury Park for a softball practice session. Lovely and sunny, though cold - but not as cold as the weather forecast had predicted. Eight wolves showed up for throwing, batting and fielding, plus pitching practice for Julian and Kate. The Finsbury Park mud is just as I'd remembered it:
Val: "Do I have to stand in the middle of that big patch of mud to bat?"
Kate: "No - just stand in front of the mud!".
I enjoyed hitting, throwing, catching and sliding around in aforementioned mud. Liked fielding at First, though I'm not really a safe enough pair of hands to play there.
We had a quick drink afterwards, then I went home. I had a bath, then went out to get my hair cut. I'd started a casserole in the slow cooker and had that for dinner, along with a nice red wine. Also watched the first two episodes of
Ashes to Ashes on the BBC website's
"iPlayer". I quite enjoyed it.
Today I was going to go over to
wascally_weasel's place for a bit of sword practice, but the trains were out at both ends and engineering works plus a "police incident" were being flagged up by TFL as causing bus delays too. so I bottled out, rather than spend four or five hours travelling and getting wound up. Instead, I went for a run in the park to blow some cobwebs away.
