Penultimate session of the First Line Managers Programme today. About managing budgets, which isn't as much fun as managing Lego. We had an exercise about monitoring expenditure mid-year based on a student social club. My view was that their serious budget deficits were almost certainly being caused by widespread corruption. But that was outside the scope of the exercise.
