Ruby Update

Ruby turned 29 months on the 16th and she is just starting to talk! We've been to speech therapy and her pediatrician. She will be tested for autism within the next 6 months too. I don't think she is autistic, but we want to rule everything out. She doesn't like speech therapy and I find that she learns much better at home in a play type of setting when she's relaxed.

Other than the speech delay, she is quite a normal toddler. She loves to play hide and seek or well hide under the covers and let mom and dad ask a million times "where's Ruby?" She still loves Elmo and Dora. She loves music and dances all the time. Her favourite thing to do lately is go out to the park and pick flowers, they're mostly dandelions, but to her they're flowers. I find mushed dandelions on the floor constantly.

She is learning sign language and loves it. I wish I'd known she was going to be slow to talk because I would have taught her sign from birth.

I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with my second and can't wait to have this one! I'm having another girl and I think the baby will be really good for Ruby, she loves babies and thinks they have funny hair. I think the baby will help her socially later on.

That's it for now. Anyone else with a late talker?
