high fever
Anyone had any experience with the high fevers. We are down in aRGentina again and since we've been here from Aug 1st, Maya has been sick 3 times. First she had a high fever and vomiting 3 days ( a saturday) after we arrived. We went to the emergency room. They prescribed their version of pedialyte.
The next Saturday she had a wierd rash on her face but no where else on her body and a mild fever 101.6. The doctor said it was a virus. The rash went away.
Now this Saturday she is back with a high fever for the past 2 days. This time the doctor said she has a very sore throat with white specs on it.He said to just give her the ibuprofen for babies every 6 hours. AFter 5 hours she was really hot again and I took her temp. This time 104. I called my mom who is a nurse and she said give her the ibuprofen again early I did that.
Its so frustrating and sad to see her so sick.
The doctor said it would be highly unusual for her to have strep at such a young age.
So no to antibiotics and just watch her for the next 2 days.
