Best Man Duties

Ok so I am starting to panic now as I really need to starting planning and organising this. I now have two months in which an event is meant to happen. This event is the stag party. I got to plan the best man speech too for July and I am going to need to be a bit cunning about this.

So here are the things I need to think about:
1) Contact all the people who are coming to the stag party
2) Find a suitable weekend for it to happen
3) Find a venue and activities for us to do including the price tag
4) Get agreement from everyone and book it

The constraints will be: Nothing physical as some people are overweight and unfit, nothing heavily reliant on alcohol as few people (incl the stag) drink much and nothing too embarrassing for the stag because he doesn’t take that sort of thing very well. And a self imposed constraint is that I want to try and arrange something unique and enjoyable ie. Something no one will have done or ever be likely to do thus making this one really memorable. This last one is going to tax me quite considerably if I want to keep the costs down.

Other things I really need to do relate to working on my best man speech. I need to be a bit sneaky and get hold of the man’s parents, fiancée and any friends from home so that I can do a bit of research. No one including me knows anything about the man prior to us meeting him at uni and a small history lesson built into the speech will avoid me having to spend the whole speech being rude about him and going on about his university days.

In addition *sigh* I need to figure out all the traditional things that a best man is meant to do such as buy presents for the bridesmaids. I’ll be damned if I have a clue at this point.

I can see this best man thing being a little expensive and very stressful!

friends, future
