A Day of Achievement

May 05, 2007 20:40

I got up today covered in hair (I trimmed it last night and despite a shower there was still bits about) and I finished the day splashed in woodstain! I feel righteous.

First amazing result was that I actually woke up at 8am on a Saturday (normally done under duress). By 9:30 I was in town pawing through the market. Came out with a scented candle and a Jappanese style banner to hang off my wall. Got myself a pair of brean new pair of cross trainers. Some minor brand called New Balance so hopefully they will do it.

And then I went for a run with said new trainers. Oh bloody crap did I push the boat out with this run. I don't know how many miles I did, but checking the clock when I got back, I had been out running for an hour. This is double and triple what I normally do. It is amazing what difference a new pair of trainers can make. It was also so hot and sunny I ended up running without a shirt. I normally would never do that, but it was very hot and I wanted to get a bit of a tan. Got honked at by some passing chavs for my trouble.

Back to the flat, quick invigorating shower and then it was topless again as I climbed out onto my roof to clean my skylight (yes I am mad enough to climb onto my roof to do this) and then stained the skylight frame and stair bannisters, splashing liberal amounts of woodstain on myself. Moral of this story is studio flats are great to not bother about clothes in and it is easier to get woodstains off skin than clothes!

Off to Woking tomorrow to meet up with the groom and sort out various stag and wedding arrangements. I'll think of something suitably productive and killer tiring for Monday.

Who says bank holiday weekends are for resting?! And I don't hurt now, but oh boy just wait for tomorrow!

exercise, domestics, best man
