Interview meme

Mar 29, 2007 18:28

Ok well the lovely Easternpromise has been continuing an interview meme. Consequently she has asked me five questions which I shall answer here:

1. What one thing in your life today are you most thankful for?

The one thing I am most thankful for at the moment is my independence. Financially, morally, in terms of health and in terms of career. I am in good health thus I can do almost anything I want and I have a large amount of choice in how I can shape my life.

2. What was the last dream you had that you can remember about?

Rescuing a friend from trouble. A silly dream as she is in Equador on sabbatical and perfectly fine. I frequently have those need to escape somewhere and rescue friends type dreams. No idea why, but I hope it doesn't say anything bad about my mind.

3. What in your opinion is the best way to spend a weekend?

Meeting up with a large group of friends and go and do outdoor activities (hiking up the mountains, paintballing, seaside etc) then having a great meal and a mild booze up.

On a more sedate note, a bit of trekking around town with or without friends, finding new and great things, and a DVD along with something to drink does not go amiss either.

4. What gives you the greatest sense of achievement?

Finishing something quite hard to do. Like doing up my flat, climbing a wall or even playing a computer game. A bit mundane I suppose?

On a more rare note, the things I have done which I remember the most and can feel the most sense of achievement are
a) Rescuing a friend on a ski slope before they would have gone off a cliff
b) Being there for my female, young, attractive but very screwed up next door neighbour, but not sleeping with her despite her being eager and my being tempted. (I will no doubt do a post about Frances in the near future, but at this point I will just say this was a situation that I can have some minor regrets about, but a lot more self pride *maybe a useful example for you Tania at this time*)

5. What did you used to want to be when you grew up and why?

I always wanted to be a policeman, fireman or soldier when I was little. I guess I just always wanted to do something meaningful rather than just make money. I also wanted to do good things for people, but not in a social services sort of way. Fortunately I am older and wiser now sufficiently to shed the more vigilante side of my thinking. Having said that, as an earlier post refers, I am considering writing a small novel (Story 2) to explore this theme. I really must get back to writing it at somepoint.

To continue the meme, should you wish to, then:
1. Leave me a comment on this post telling me the nicest thing anyone's ever done for you (I'm interested).
2. I'll then respond by asking you up to five questions.
3. You update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them up to five questions.
