the sun kissed the sky.

Castiel had fled from their hotel room early that morning, very early. Before the sun hit the horizon to go to a small store on the other end of town that might hold clothes for him that weren't just t-shirts and old torn apart jeans that belonged to Dean. As much as he did enjoy having his scent with him everywhere he went.

He was gone until noon. ( Read more... )

Dean had woken up to find himself alone, the sun shining in through the blinds and putting the time around 12. A quick glance at the cheap, nasty Playboy-esque clock mounted on the wall confirmed he wasn't far wrong. Five minutes later, mind working a little faster thanks to his body waking up properly, he bolted up in the bed and realized his assumption Cas was in the bathroom didn't feel right. For starters, there was no noise.

"Cas?" The name sounded loud the second it was out of his mouth thanks to just how quiet the room was, and it made him feel uneasy. He wasn't used to waking up alone now, especially not waking up to Cas doing something nerdy. Generally reading books ( ... )

Cas was used to the anger. He was used to how aggressively territorial Dean was so neither of the two being shown to him now phased him.

He turned the small nokia over in his hands before holding it out to Dean. "It's out of minutes."

He then fingered his new clothes, dipped his chin to look at them and raised his head to Dean to maintain eye contact. "I wanted it to be a surprise."

"Out of minutes. Of course it is." Dean took the phone but continued to stare across at Cas who wasn't making much attempt at explaining himself all that well.

"You had an Ugly Betty moment and I was--" He doesn't bother finishing up his sentence. He knows, for now, the relief that's flooding into him is going to make him forget to stay pissed until later. Later he'll deliver the lecture about not going out without at least leaving a note.

Pulling Cas inside the room, he shut the door behind them and then pressed him against the door, taking a look at the clothes he'd picked out for himself at arms length.

Cas stepped inside at the apparent pause in Dean's anger but was met with a swooping hand right in the middle of, "Who is Ugly Betty, Dean?"

He was up against the wall, back hard against the stucko. Thinking partly that he'd done something wrong and partly knowing that this was part of Dean's seductive charm.
