Really?

Ngh. Hi everyone, I am alive. Terribly behind on everything -- I have half an entry from like a week ago still open in a tab. I need to post that, because it's about Beholder. I'll get to it. Probably in a few days, when I'm supposed to be writing my essay. Because that's how I roll.

But for now, I just need to express, er, wow.

Am reading up for my Gothic Lit essay (which has to be awesome, you guys, it has to be -- I can't write a crappy essay for it or I will hate myself), which I think is going to be on Gothic heroines, and am currently reading an article on women and Gothic. A feminist article. Allegedly.

Now, it is estimated that Gothics make up 5% or more of the total paperback sales in this country (Pace, 1973). This fact, combined with the novels' appeal to women of various ages - from the older teen to the middle-aged matron and even older-highlights their potential impact as "subtle" socializers or "reinforcers."

Wow. Really?

I don't know if I can finish reading this article or not. I will certainly be checking where it came from before I use anything it says in my essay (I read these things on databases, so it's possible that not everything comes from totally legit places/authors).

I just. Yeah. I got nothing.

what even, fuckery
