Photo book/scrap book - sent home in 1918

Took some photos of a fairly delicate old book at Mum and Dad's. Dad's maternal grandfather (Richard Worden) sent it back as a gift to his family in Australia while he was serving overseas during WWI. I think, at the time, he was stationed with records groups in various locations, including Alexandria, and sent this book on Jerusalem back. The ( Read more... )

Amazing! Are those photos hand-tinted? They look like they are.

Your great-grandfather may have served with my great-uncle!

I'm not sure, though they very likely are. It's a gorgeous piece of history
