[the video feed turns on, but the view is abstracted; there are several dark spots on the image, through which some footsteps can be seen. it looks like Syaoran is holding the device while it's recording]

Well, it looks like I've managed to avoid being shocked this time, doesn't it? I suppose it's good timing, in this case. It's gotten so quiet ( Read more... )

The library, hm? I would be willing to help with the monsters.

...ah, I see. [When the communicator drops.] Perhaps one of those creatures got inside?

[...] I was thinking that might be the case. Although, if it is, then the monsters are becoming increasingly more violent...

--Really? I, well, given the circumstances, I would certainly appreciate more help!

Perhaps... are any of the pages bitten or clawed?

Hm. We can kill or drive out the monsters in the vicinity, but I see no way to keep them from returning?

[a pause]

No...it doesn't seem like it. It looks more like they've been ripped.

Miranda-san said she might be able to help a bit with her powers. Overall, creatures like this normally inhabit buildings that have been abandoned for long periods of time. If the building becomes more regularly-used, they might be disinclined to return, and will --er, I think, at least-- find another place to nest.

It seems pointless to add to the destruction in this city.

Ah, yes, such as the situation with the hospital? In any case, I can assist in ridding the area of its current monsters. Or would you prefer help with that mess, at present?

I would agree, especially when there might be some useful information here...

Exactly. Err-- I can clean up these pages...the monsters are my main concern. Or rather, removing the monsters without further damaging the library. And-- thank you for your help, I really do appreciate it.

Can any of the torn books be salvaged?

I see. Then I will head there and do what I can to remove the creatures.

Ah. May I ask your name?

I hope so. Usually book restoration --well, in its simplest form,at least-- deals with rebinding, cleaning, sometimes rewriting a few pages... But this might be more complicated.

Oh, right! My name is Syaoran.

Have you restored books before? It sounds like a rare and valuable skill here.

It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Tsunami.

Ah-- well, it's not something I specialize in, but I've done it before. I'm an archaeologist, so...sometimes it can be useful.

It's nice to meet you too, Tsunami-san.

Ah... rather young for an archaeologist, aren't you? I'm fascinated with that field-- I'm a collector of relics, ancient pieces from many eras.
