[Background] Ken's father abandoned him and his mother when Ken was a very young age. As such, Ken does not know much about him. Ken lived with his mother in an apartment in Iwatodai for the majority of his life.
Two years before the beginning of Persona 3 (which would be 2007), Ken was awake during the 'Dark Hour', a time period hidden between one day and the next, in which creates called Shadows roam the surrounding area of Iwatodai and Tatsumi Port Island. During that time, all normal people without the 'potential' to summon a Persona are turned into impenetrable coffins (with the exception of a few... unlucky folk).
When Ken was awake, a small group of three Shadow-executing students (known as SEES) arrived near his apartment building and began to fight a Shadow. A boy (named Shinjiro Aragaki)'s Persona went out of control, destroying the building, knocking Ken unconscious, and killing Ken's mother.
Ken was taken to the police station when the Dark Hour ended and people discovered the suddenly collapsed building. He told the police what he saw (a creature coming out of a boy's head), and they pretty much thought he was insane.
Ken lived as an orphan in the grade school dorms until summer 2009, during which he asked to be placed into the SEES dorm, as part of his revenge plan to murder Shinjiro on October 4th, the day of his mother's death (after which he planned to commit suicide).
[Personality] Ken is mature for his age, but sometimes he is too precocious for his own good. He sometimes takes things too seriously, forgetting to have any fun like a boy his age should. He dislikes his height, and so he drinks milk constantly, to the point of making himself sick. He loves to drink black coffee. Despite his maturity, he secretly like superheros (such as the show Phoenix Featherman R), and collects figurines of them fanatically. When faced with danger or a strange situation, Ken attempts to stay calm, which usually fails, but he keeps the facade of maturity up regardless. When something completely nerve-wracking happens, however, he loses it and starts crying.
Because of his past, he holds a very strong grudge against Shinjiro Aragaki, even though, before joining SEES, he had no clue who the boy was. He's devoted most of his time and energy into training with spears (which he uses to make up for his small stature), and thinking about how he could take revenge out on Shinjiro.
[Specialties/Abilities] Ken, as stated above, is very mature for his age. He can thoroughly think through things at times when he's not panicking. He's good at hiding his childish side, except for when he's excited about something related to superheroes. In the Persona 3 world, he has the ability to summon the Persona 'Nemesis' of the Justice Arcana. However, with the loss of his Evoker (a gun-like object that summons Personae) that would be mostly impossible. Nemesis uses 'Hama' skills, which are spells that can cause instant death in the enemy by surrounding them with holy energy.
[Affection] Friendly affection is good. The rules prohibit intimacy for his age group, so none of that.
[Fighting] Fighting is somewhat okay, but Ken wouldn't have a reason unless he really doesn't like you or you're Shinji. |:
