destiny can eat shit and die

The world where they live is a not-so-fun world where everyone has known who they are destined to be with. Not as in directly. It's more like a stupid superstition at first, especially for the people who do not really believe in fortune-telling, but then it does happen, it just happens like that without any trigger and suddenly everyone is talking about how they get a message before their meeting with their soul mate.
It comes from a dream for the people here, telling you about when and where you will meet your soul mate. It is really not fun, indeed, but once you are the one who gets the dream, you will be excited to prove that it is right or maybe wrong.
Woohyun will meet his soul mate on a sunny day at a coffee shop. The coffee shop is the one he is used to go before going to college and he has so much hope after he gets the dream. He has been telling his friends about it and gets a new nickname for being such a puppy in love-that's a nickname from Dongwoo, but he can deny it now with a reason that he hasn't been in love with his soon-to-be soul mate, yet.
The next dream comes a little vaguer than the first one, but Woohyun figures out the figure he saw in the dream as a girl with two big pretty eyes and black shiny hair, tied in a ponytail. Her smile is beautiful and Woohyun wonders if that girl is another message that's been leaked to him before their meeting, and he begins to count the days before his meeting with the destined girl.
It's just that maybe he is too much for being an idiot that he wakes up late for his meeting with this one girl. He comes to the cafe despite of that and he has to face the disappointment that the girl who has been haunting his minds for the past few days is not there anymore.
Woohyun is a big believer of the soul mate superstition and he is not going to give up in meeting him. Maybe she wakes up later than me for this, he thought. Only that, not everyone is as stupid and as naive as this young boy.
Or maybe, he is really eager for this because he has put a bet with Dongwoo and the others that he will really prove his soulmate’s existence. A good number of money is only a step away and he can’t give up now, no matter what it takes.

On the other side, this soul mate thing has no effect anymore on Sunggyu. He has met his soul mate and loved her with all he had for a few years before he lost her three months ago.
He concluded that it is the price he had to pay for meeting the girl ever since he can remember. The first kiss was taken when he is in the junior high school and it changed everything-the girl is his soul mate before he can even get the dream that tells it. But it really is her, the soul mate who's destined for him. There's the psychic bond formed ever since they shared the first kiss, everyone who has found their 'ones' knows how it feels.
The psychic bound is a two-way bound formed in between the couple, the real couples that are destined already. It was a special feeling to see everything from the partner’s perspective and also knowing what the partners are thinking about when they want to, although not everyone would appreciate it if their privacies are being intervened by this kind of thing.
Sunggyu misses it sometimes when he closes his eyed and suddenly felt the excitement that is not his own, rushes into his mind. It is his girlfriend’s, usually, too bad that he only has a dead-girlfriend now that the psychic bound has been exterminated by the time the accident happened.
There’s only a soul mate destined for someone, that’s for sure, and he has always believed it all his life and even accepted it to have nothing to hope anymore when his girlfriend left him. That’s why he just can’t take it that calmly when a boy suddenly shows up and claims himself as his soul mate. That’s the most ridiculous thing he has ever heard.
Who knows that his usual lazy Sunday morning in a café can turns into such unpleasant meeting with this unpleasing man. He has known it the moment a pair of palms is being slammed onto the wooden table and he jumps on his seat, staring wide-eyed at the intruder.
“Do you like me that much to actually say that?” he only responded with that and a simple mocking grin, head tilted slightly while his hand is twirling the teaspoon in his fingers. He can see the boy’s stubbornness from the gaze and he is amused enough to even care dealing with a stranger like him. There haven’t been so many things that amused him ever since his lover died.
“I’m just trying to confirm this soul mate thingy. I saw her on this exact place where you are sitting right now and even the way the sun from that window over there lighten your face. It is exactly the same!”
Sunggyu blinks at the statement, having the clear imagination of what he is talking about as he glances at the window. The other male looks so damn serious about it that in the end, he can’t help to barks out a guffaw.
“Did you dream about a female version of me or what? That’s so… funny?” he tries to stifle his laughter and finally stops, coughing a little when he sees the glare aimed towards him. “Well, wait. I think I’ve seen you before, are you sure that you’re not trying to deceive me for money or something?”
Much to his surprise, the dark haired man shot forward and grabs onto his collar, bringing their faces closer until he can see each lines that made the annoyingly good-looking face and feels the breath coming out as puffs from the slightly parted mouth.
“My mom owns that bread shop on the corner of the street and I know you well since you still owe us a lot, Kim Sunggyu.”
That’s really an attack right on the spot, making Sunggyu’s face turns into an embarrassed one, and then a panicked one since he knows that he doesn’t have that much money on him. There’s a small smirk forming on the boy’s lips as if he has really gotten the card.
It also makes him an idiot yet again because Sunggyu is sneakier than he knows. The splash of hot tea onto his t-shirt has given the target enough time to flee from his grasp. At least the stranger guy is not chasing after him when he runs out the café.

No.
It was too soon to be relieved. Because when he gets home at the evening, the same dark-haired man has waited inside his apartment room. He almost calls the police or maybe the owner of the small apartment building if only it is not the boy himself stopping him-saying that he is actually the son of the owner and that his father is going for a holiday in the countryside.
Too many coincidences, Sunggyu concludes with his head throbbing as he finally just lets the stupid-looking guy inside the room. He figures out that the name is Woohyun, and that he is still forcing him to believe about the soul mate thingy. It must be his unluckiest day of the month to actually meet a brat like this who is nowhere close to the girl whose picture is still hung nicely on the living room’s wall.
He has pretty much ignored this Woohyun guy and just does whatever he needs to do around the room as if the boy is not talking all the time. But at almost the end of the day, his attention is finally obtained again, and he finds himself unknowingly listens to the guy.
“Okay. I actually don’t care if you’re really my soul mate or not. I have placed a big bet with my friends and I really want the money.”
“That’s got nothing to do with me.”
“It does! I only need to find someone to act as my so-called lover-for-live and I can get the money. I will give you some if you’re agreed to act as my soul mate. Take it or leave it?”
The offer makes him perks up a little and it seems like the decision has been made the moment their gazes locked together.
“Half of the money you will get. Take it or leave it?”

Sunggyu meets Woohyun’s friends on the next day.
He is in a foul mood because of what the other male has done to him this morning. It is not his fault that Woohyun has a full access to get into the room, but it is definitely his fault to think that the girl he has always loved in the past has come back next to him in the bed this morning.
It was a blissful feeling, until he sees the mocking grin plastered on the guy’s annoying face when he is fully awake. He doesn’t even know why it angered him so much, maybe for the fact that it feels so comfortable it made him miss the girl so bad, or rather, he is mad to himself because he could mistake Woohyun as the girl he has been living with.
The other male seems to have sensed the mood and left by his own, but it is such a relief that Sunggyu shows up in the meeting place.
He has never liked to be in the center of attention, except in this event because Woohyun’s friends are not those losers that would bore him, and the awed looks on their faces are just amusing. He has forgotten about this morning’s accident towards the end of the meeting.
They make up lies of their meetings and the sparks they felt when they are certain that they were really destined to be (Sunggyu secretly cringes at this; luckily the others didn’t notice him). It is easy for him to lie because he has felt it before, but Woohyun turns out to be a good liar as well.
“He is the only thing I can see there in the café. The shine radiates from him was calling me towards him. When our gazes met, I was certain that he is the one.”
You’re the only thing I can see, now and whenever we are together. Whenever you look at me, I’m reassured that you’re really that one.
“You’re so cheesy. I wonder how long it would be until this Sunggyu-nim gets sick of you,” a not-so-light pat on his back brings him into his senses, eyes blinking rapidly as he tries to proceeds what is happening. “When that time comes, you can call me, okay?” the Sungyeol guy gives him a wink.
“There’s no way it would happen. I can see how much he loves me just from his gaze, and even if he does get tired; we are soul mate. We are destined.”
No way! Can you see it from my eyes? And even if I do get tired of you, we are destined already, so, let’s not worried about it.
Sunggyu’s eyes widened as the realization hits him. It is the girl’s voice-the voice he has been so familiar with even in his dreams. They came as echoes inside his mind, and the fact that Woohyun’s words reminded him about it; it makes his stomach churns in a displeasing way.
Woohyun notices his tensed state when a drop of sweat runs down the side of his face. He is lucky that his fake-lover can be a help at a time like this and tells his friends that they are going home soon. They got the money and Woohyun thanks him a lot during the way home.
But something still doesn’t feel right.

They end up sitting side by side in Sunggyu's balcony later at night, the cold night wind is hitting their back through the railings, but they are laughing despite of that, mocking on how stupid those guys Woohyun calls his friends. They bought some packs of beers with the money, the cans are mainly scattered around them and they are not fully sober anymore by now. Sunggyu's cheeks are already flushed because of the alcohol and he slows down his drink knowing that he is going to get a bad hangover at the morning, unlike the other male who is still gulping down the beer from his own can like it is the last day he is able to do it.
"Will you leave after this, then, since you have got the money?" He suddenly asks out of nowhere, lips still touching the cold surface of the beer can. He can feel how Woohyun freezes next to him because of the sudden change of topic, but at least he stops drinking.
"Why?" he asks with a little hoarse voice. "If you are my soul mate..."
"You are not."
"Why not? I got that juju dream."
He snaps his head to the side and their gazes locked, showing the stubbornness from each side. Sunggyu knows that he is reasonable enough for this and he starts to talk about the girl he loved and lost; the girl that is already confirmed as his one and only soul mate. He expects the latter to stop being so stubborn and accept it, but instead, he earns a scoff for the story.
"I should feel guilty, then."
That's good enough for a reaction, Sunggyu thinks, though the mocking expression on the face is not really a guilty one. He stops himself from being pissed off by thinking that Woohyun is just too-drunk to be normal here. "It's okay, I guess. People can be wrong sometimes, you can find your own soul--"
"Not that." The interruption is really a way to make him irritated again and ready to shout at the other if only it's not for the cold palm that's holding onto the side of his face, bringing him to come face to face with the owner of the hand. "I’m feeling guilty...for wanting what I want right now."
Oh God does he feel captivated by how close their faces are? His eyes begin to trail over the structure of the face in front of his own and then stops on those plump, inviting lips. They are wet probably because of the beer, and he doesn't think he'd mind to have them pressed against his own. "Fuck it." the lips muttered before they moved closer.
Before he knows it, Woohyun's lips are pressed gently on top of his own. It does feel good... No.
No fucking way.
He feels the blood rushing onto his face as the kiss is broken and Woohyun's face is still really really close. Those black orbs are captivating him by staring deeply into his own. He can barely escape the trap when he feels the warm breath hitting his lips from the whisper from Woohyun's parted mouth.
"Sunggyu. Let's have sex."
That night ends with Sunggyu dragging the drunken man out from his room and leaves him in the corridor.

Woohyun is still in the corridor the next morning when Sunggyu comes out the room to get the milk. They stare at each other for a few seconds before the look of surprise graced on his features, but Woohyun doesn't give him any chance to freak out when he is already stepping into the house as if he is the legal owner.
"Why did you kick me out last night?" he speaks out with a low voice once he gets Sunggyu trapped inside the room by leaning against the door. "It was kind of hard to even say it! Hmph!”
"You can't be serious," Sunggyu gives him a skeptical look while he walks away to the kitchen, picking up a bottle of cold water from the fridge. He almost got choked from the water when he feels the other's presence right behind him, wrapping him inside those warm and comforting arms like how he has always imagined it to-wait, what?
"I'm serious, actually. I thought the bond will be formed completely after our second kiss, but I was wrong." Those lips are pressed onto the back of his earlobe and the warm breath that hits his skin with each word the male uttered bothers him too much to even be able to think straight."The only option left is to have sex."
"What the fuck are you even talking about?" Sunggyu chooses to act nonchalant. He purposely leans back against the chest and acts as if it's not a big deal while drinking from his bottle, without knowing that it actually makes things worse.
Woohyun snorts, “You are in denial, acting cool while your inside is making a fuss right now. That's... so cute." he barks a guffaw and it's about time for Sunggyu to snap.
He escapes from the arms' restriction and turns around to get face to face with the other male, face impassive even though there's a hint of flush in the pale cheeks, which is the only thing noticed.
"Our bond has already formed the moment I kissed you that morning when you were sleeping."
"You did what?!"
"I thought that if we kiss when we both are awake, it will be a two-way bond like how it usually is, but nothing happened! I don't know how to make you believe it now," he groaned in frustration, a hand messing the dark locks of his hair. "This fucking useless soul mate shit. I don't care about it, okay? I want you."
Sunggyu is pretty much stunned in the spot before he gets his senses back when the bottle fell onto the floor and the cold water splashes onto his legs. He sighs heavily, rubbing the back of his neck.
“What would you do if the bond doesn’t form even after we do it?” he asks quietly, shifting his gaze somewhere else when Woohyun closes the distance in between them that he can feel the hot breaths hitting his neck.
“Then we will keep trying until the bond forms.”
