Firstly, a fascinating glimpse of the people of the Arran Islands off the west coast of Ireland. Oddly, I can see some similarities between these folks and the peoples of the islands off our own northwest coast. I think it's something not quite tangible, something in the attitude in the culture. It's a fun piece to watch, a study through the eyes and lens of a traveling Australian. I'm tempted to look up his other episodes.

Here's another very interesting website, it delves into the dialects throughout the UK.
"Sounds Familiar?". It's a fun one to explore, not only for being able to listen to the wonderfully diverse dialects, but to get a glimpse into cultures, occupations, children's games, etc. I especially enjoy listening to the seniors, whose particular dialects and speech patterns aren't often heard anymore. They've great stories to tell about their own lives.
