So, I've finished all of the squad member missions (save for Legion, because I just got him). Overall, they were very well done. And, as I expected, I like all the characters (except Zaeed, but I think that they didn't put enough effort into making that DLC the same quality as the other characters).
Miranda: I started off being very cautious about her character. Everything that I'd already heard/seen of her kind of made me think that my Shepard would want to shove her out an airlock. And, yeah, my Shepard still doesn't trust her and I myself never actually use her on missions. But her side mission definitely fleshes her character out a lot more. Plus, she and her sister? Wonderful. Overall, I think Miranda's a pretty good character, even if I still think my Shepard is likely to ignore anything she has to say...which she sort of does.
Yeah, Garrus is still my favorite, for all that Mordin is trying to steal that spot. That's not to say that he doesn't scare me a bit now (but pushing him on the renegade path during the first game also scared me).
His entire personal mission made me cringe a bit, not because it was badly written or anything like that, but because it hurt to see how much he had changed and how far he was willing to go for revenge (granted, my own Shepard definitely understood his mindset, and probably would have done the same, even if she was definitely worried about him). I did, however, love the 'I didn't shoot him,' line, as well as when Garrus acknowledges that he knows that Shepard doesn't agree with what he's doing.
Also, I love his comments whenever they run into geth or husks.
Mordin is awesome, even if the...interspecies sex talk was awkward (and very amusing. Very, very amusing). And he sings. He's fantastic.
And I like Grunt. I guessed that I would before starting the game, and I still do. Even if he keeps smashing windows in engineering. But he calls Shepard 'Battlemaster'! And! And! KROGAN PUBERTY! Hah!...even though his mission meant running into a thresher maw. I have very strong feelings of dislike for thresher maws.
Samara's mission was fun, in the 'dress up and get seduced by someone' sort of way. Couldn't help myself and chose the 'surprise' option near the end. Heee.
Thane's mission was sad, mostly because it was father-son stuff, and anything like that made me very sad. But we sort of fixed everything! Even if I got lost once or twice trying to follow that stupid turian...
Tali's mission is the only one that made me cry, and that's because it involved her and her father, and stories where someone loses there father always hit me very hard, since I've gone through that. On a happier note, Tali is still adorable, and I now have a 'ship for her, mostly because Kal'Reeger definitelyhas a crush on her. Oh, shush, it's totally canon (not really).
Let's see...Jack. I like her more than I ever thought I would, mostly because, while you can see that there's something more to her, there's no 'tough girl completely breaks down and changes' arc for her. You get to know her and change her mind a little bit, but not so much that it changes who she is.
Zaeed...almost got left behind at the end of his mission. I still don't think he's trustworthy, and my Shepard actually probably should have left him there. He seems the sort who's only loyal because he knows now that Shepard would be willing to kill him if he betrayed her...and that doesn't really work for my Shep.
Anyway, that's enough for babbling right now. Getting closer to the end...
