Off on another adventure...

Arashi was not a happy Waltz. Old Aaron at the general store had told him the usual caravan bringing supplies for trade into Sarwin was late. Which meant there still wasn't a way to send the draft sketches of the weapon Arashi wanted to custom order off to be made. The Waltz is tempted to just fly out, find the dwarves, and deliver it himself ( Read more... )

Silver looks at the lock, and then looks at Rydia. "Can you flip it up so she can see the lock side? And...." She turns and gives one of the humans in the cage a big-eyed look. "Can you lift her up so she can reach the lock?"

As she talks she sticks her hand through the bars and offers the hafling her 'lock pick', which is the heavy, jeweled pin from a broken ring brooch.

The halfling accepts the pin and the female of the two humans in the cage picks her up, while Rydia gets the lock into position. After that, it only takes a few seconds before there's a click and the lock is opened. Rydia removes the lock and the door is pushed open while the halfling is put back down. She'll return the pin to Silver.

Silver takes it, and then is overcome by shyness and hides on the nearest of her friends who won't object to her doing so.

Mistral will promptly tuck a wing over her. He's considering the best way to relocate the Giant Jelly Cube to the Nexus and find a safe place to keep it. Meanwhile the prisoners are being helped out of the cage, their leader talking to Rydia about the situation. Blaze perks up when he hears they'll pay for an escort back to their hometown.

Big blue eyes peek out from under the wing as Silver listens to everything. Right now this little girl looks very unextraordinary. Also, rather grubby.

"We should find somewhere safe for the cube monster while they're busy," Mistral whispers to her, and starts to edge back towards the door with his bell ready.

"I wish I was better at going pop," she murmurs back, her head turning toward the outer room as she listens to what the jelly cube and the rocks themselves are saying.

Mistral will give her a hug, and then ring the bell gently as he goes into the next room.

The cube is there. The room is otherwise empty. The cube is feeling very 'stuffed' and lazy. And any metal items the orcs had are now scattered on the floor. Though it might be a good idea not to touch those with bare hands until they're rinsed off, in case of any lingering acidic stuff on them.

Mistral watches the cube and tries to think of a good place in the Nexus to keep it. He'd looked into a few caves before, because of Dmitri the dodongo... but he's not all that sure what the cube would like yet. He does know he doesn't want to put it where it might fight with his other pets - he has the feeling it wouldn't know any better than to eat anything it came into contact with.

Silver leans against Mistral, and then projects the suggestion of the perfect home to the cube, using feel instead of words or images. It's the same way that she talks to inanimate objects, and her little pointed ears are perked as she 'listens' for the cube's reply.

The cube has a very simplistic mind, and not much in the way of senses. It likes to be cool, slightly damp, and have food. It probably wouldn't like sunlight, since that would make it warm, but without any actual visual sense it doesn't have much concept of sunlight.

The room it's in is actually very comfy for it, despite what would look like a lack of space. It would be a problem if it had to hunt on its own, but since the Orcs fed it that wasn't an issue.

"I think it would like one of those caves full of worms," says Silver, tipping her head to look at Mistral.

"Would it?" Mistral chuckles. "Well, then that's where it should be. Hmm..." He tries to work out various ways to get the cube from here to there. Perhaps if it could be poked with something it couldn't immediately dissolve that would count as touching it as far as PINPoint use was concerned...

Both little nearly invisible eyebrows go up at Mistral's thinking sound. "What's wrong?"

"Oh, just considering ways to transport a creature that's acidic to the touch. Can you move it to its new home, or should I test a theory..?"
