The Weapons Stall

Sep 06, 2010 16:33

Hey guys! So borrowing an idea from Scath, I've decided just to stick this post permanently in Krile's journal rather than making a huge, redundant one in the OOC comm every few months. It'll be linked to in her top / HMD post for easy findings if you need to have a look later.

there has been no FailTML. you're imagining things.

All about the weapons stall )

Think the shop carries war fans? I want Peach to stay confused about what major weapon to pick for a while - longswords and some kind of bladed polearm are the ones she eyes most, but she's not sure just what bladed polearm, said polearm would be unwieldy to carry around, and she doesn't want to be paying installments on two things at once.

But she's definitely got an eating knife by now, and something else small isn't out of the question. Of course, those fans are probably hard to repair, with the folding and the silk between the ribs.

You mean like the kind the Yamani ladies carried? That could definitely be there, and the damaged silk would probably make it easier for Krile to realize it's a weapon since the metal would be exposed.

It might look a little rough in the shop since she's not an expert in their make or repair (I figure she can sew well enough to repair monster-torn clothing but she's not anything like a tailor and definitely doesn't have the skills for fanmaking) but it'd serve its purpose well enough!

Yep, the shukusen. Though apparently IRL they're actually called tessen.

Silk might not repair too well anyway. Still, sounds good!

Dude, they used them for signaling? That's so cool and I'm not sure why.

Ahaha she'll probably just like... put a patch of the thinnest cloth that roughly matches the color of the silk on there to try and cover the gap.

[And to stop arrows and help with swimming! I love how multipurpose they are.]

Hah! Peach will decide that it has character right up until the other cloth doesn't wash out stains/breaks/does not act silklike enough, and then she'll find a tailor somewhere.
