[Cara waits in the park with a couple of slingshot and a bag of smooth lake pebbles, looking around for Relic. She's set up a couple of targets that are basically just pieces of cardboard propped up with sticks for the lesson.]
[Cara turns at the voice and looks down at--at Lampwick, or the spitting image of him. She stares for a moment, not sure what to say.
But Relic has seemed different over the journals than Lampwick has; she wouldn't have guessed they were the same. Maybe she just can't see what the difference is... they don't really sound the same either.
[Relic smiles despite the somewhat delayed greeting. No need to make this any more awkward, right.]
Yup, it's nice to meet you.
[His demeanor lacks the easy confidence that Lampwick used to have, making it a bit more apparent that he's still just an adolescant. He's still eager and cheerful though.]
[He does seem a bit younger, yeah. Cara hands him a slingshot.]
Okay, this is how you do it.
[She kneels down so he'll be better able to see the demonstration and fits a stone into the pouch, drawing back the sling as she aims at one of the square targets, then lets it fly. It strikes with a pock, and she hands Relic the bag of ammo.]
Give it a try. Be sure to hold it like this--[she demonstrates again]--and keep both eyes on the target.
[Relic watched how it was done attentively befor trying to mirror her actions. This seemed simple enough. Like throwing but the slingshot did the work. His first try was several inches to the left of the target; his second a little above. A little harder than he thought but he had the feeling he could get it.]
It's a small piece of iron that's about the same length as a pencil or pen.

It takes a little bit, but you're getting the hang of it! Just make sure not to let your hand slip; it hurts when it snaps you in the face.
